sandbox (the “Community”) is a research community developed and used by Sapient Corporation to conduct research studies and surveys through http://www.sandbox-community.com (the “Site”). Sapient Corporation (“Sapient” or “we”) is deeply committed to protecting the privacy of Personally-Identifiable Information that we collect from you as you participate in the Community and use the Site. This policy illustrates how we think about and handle your information and discloses our information gathering and dissemination practices. By submitting information and by being a part of the Community, you agree to Sapient's use of such information as described herein.
What Personally-Identifiable Information is collected?
Personally-Identifiable Information (“PII”) is information that can be used to identify you individually. Sapient collects PII from you when you participate in the Community. The PII collected may include, without limitation, your name, address, phone number, email address, age, date of birth, gender, and geographic location and any other PII that you may voluntarily provide in connection the Site and the Community.
HOW YOUR PII IS USED
Sapient uses your PII for the purposes for which you provided it, including enabling us to conduct research as described on the Site. We may keep your PII on file and use it to contact you in conjunction with your participation in the Community. Sapient may share your PII with Sapient affiliates and its third party Community management partner, Research Connections, in order to maintain the Site and the Community. Research Connections may use your PII to fulfill its obligations to you in connection with your participation in the Community. Sapient may share data collected from the Community, including your PII, on an aggregated basis with Sapient clients or prospective clients.
Your privacy is extremely important to us. Except with respect to disclosures to Sapient affiliates and Research Connections as set forth above, Sapient will not intentionally disclose (and will take commercially reasonable steps to prevent the accidental disclosure of) your PII to third parties, whether for such third parties’ marketing purposes or otherwise, subject only to the following four exceptions:
- Sapient may disclose your PII to third parties as required or permitted by the laws, rules and regulations of any nation, state or other applicable jurisdiction;
- Sapient may disclose your PII to third parties who deliver information from us to you for the purpose of performing such delivery;
- Sapient may disclose your PII if, in connection with submitting the information, you consent to such disclosure;
- If Sapient merges with or sells substantially all of its assets or a majority of its equity to a third party, PII collected by Sapient may be disclosed to the merged entity or third party.
Under no circumstances will Sapient sell your PII to a third party for any reason.
Links to third-party Web sites
The Site may contain links to third-party Web sites. In addition, you may choose to install third-party applications as part of your participation in the Community. We cannot control and are not responsible for the information collection and privacy practices of such third-party Web sites and applications, which may differ from those of this Site. If you have questions about how a third-party Web site or application uses your information, consult that Site's privacy statement.
How can I access, change, and/or delete information?
You may access, correct, update and/or delete any PII that you have submitted in connection with the Community by sending any email to Sapient’s Community Manager at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Deleting your account
If you would like to stop participating in the Community, you may terminate your membership by sending an email request to email@example.com. Once opted out, Research Connections will deactivate your account and you will no longer receive invitations to participate in Community activities.
Sapient understands the important of protecting children’s privacy, especially in an on-line environment. The Site is not intentionally designed for or directed at children 13 years of age or younger, and Sapient will not intentionally collect or maintain information about anyone under the age of 13. If you are the parent or guardian of a child under the age of 13 and you discover that your child has registered with the Community, please email firstname.lastname@example.org to request deactivation of the account and we will take steps to remove the information from our database and storage systems. We are not liable for any consequences of such information, including any delay or failure to remove such information.
Sapient has implemented generally accepted standards of technology and operation security in order to protect PII from loss, misuse, alteration, or destruction. Only select, authorized Sapient and Research Connection personnel have access to PII, and the personnel of Sapient and Research Connections are required to treat this information as confidential. Despite these precautions, Sapient cannot guarantee that unauthorized persons will not obtain access to your PII.
Transborder hosting and transfer of information
PII collected in connection with the Site may be transferred from time to time to Sapient offices located throughout the world, including offices located outside the European Economic Area (EEA), and the Site may be viewed and hosted anywhere in the world, including countries (such as the United States) that may not have laws regulating the use and transfer of personally-identifiable data. By using the Site and submitting such information on it, you voluntarily consent to such transborder transfer and hosting of such information.
Do Not Track
We do not respond to “Do Not Track” signals.
